Frequently Asked Questions

Not necessarily. While Grade 12 passes in Agriculture, Biology, or Mathematics are preferred for standard entry, mature applicants (25 years and older) who have hands-on farming or agribusiness experience can apply through the mature entry route by submitting a portfolio of their work experience instead.

Annual tuition is N$22,000 for Years 1 and 2, and N$23,000 for Year 3 — bringing the total programme cost to approximately N$67,000. GFAC is applying for NSFAF-registered institution status, which means students will be able to apply for government financial assistance. Student loans are also available through Bank Windhoek and NamPost Savings Bank, and NTA training grants may cover part of your fees.

GFAC is based in Outapi, the administrative capital of Omusati Region. Unlike NUST and UNAM which are mainly based in Windhoek, GFAC is designed specifically for students from the northern regions — Omusati, Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, and Kavango — so most students will not need to travel far. Outapi has good road links to Oshakati, Ongwediva, and Ondangwa.

Graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Management (NQF Level 7) are qualified to work as farm managers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, agricultural extension officers, project managers at NGOs, and procurement or supply chain officers in the agricultural sector. The qualification also links to degree-level study at UNAM or NUST if you wish to continue your education further.
